For me the last 17 games of the year are certainly going to be depressing and anti-climactic.  I've heard someone on the radio say that it’s like Yankee Stadium is dying from a terminal illness.  I think it might be a bit much to compare the closing of a building to a terminal disease, but for true Yankee fans in there Yankee world, that’s about right.  Unfortunately I don’t plan on making another trip this year.  I made my last trip on July 2nd against the Texas Rangers.  An 18-7 beating.  It was fun to see.  I sat on the third base side of home plate all the way under the mezzanine, almost the last row.  I’d probably been to a hundred Yankee games before that but had never sat in that area of the stadium before.  The stadium was packed.  It was an enjoyable night with my brother, my pregnant wife and my cousin.  When is the last time you were at the stadium?

Goodbye Yankee Stadium Your final memories.....

I have been to Yankee Stadium only once. I was to be in NY and knew it might be my last opportunity to see the Bombers play n the House that Ruth Built. It was last season - it was hot. But I saw A-Rod hit his 500th against the Royals and the Yankees won a in a high scoring duel. Never forget it!

Goodbye Yankee Stadium Your final memories.....

Unfortunately I never did get to visit Yankee stadium, but I do look upon the closing of the stadium as a major tragedy in the world of sports.  Yankee Stadium was such a history rich place with so many hisotrical events.  I am sad that I never did get to visit it.

Goodbye Yankee Stadium Your final memories.....

It will be missed, thats for sure.  I've had season tickets for the last 7 years and have been to alot of amazing games during that span.  Tonight will be my 26th and final game of the season at Yankee Stadium.  I will be taking a lot of pictures tonight.  It is a sad day.  Let's Go Yankees!!

Goodbye Yankee Stadium Your final memories.....

As your watching the Yankees from across the street next year it would be difficult not to hear as to imagine the ghosts of all the great Yankee players and the roars of their fans drowning out your game from across the street. Goodbye Yankee Stadium, It's been a pleasure hating you all these years. I'll have many fond memories and will miss you. When Baltimore built Camden Yards, it was better than the old park, but didn't contain the history that Yankee stadium holds. New York is a special place, and the people there represent our entire country, the heart and soul of  the United States of America. Goodbye old foe, and hopefully the new stadium can live up to it's predecessor.

Goodbye Yankee Stadium Your final memories.....

I live in the heart of Massachusetts, so getting to the stadium isn't always easy for this Yankee fan.... but the last time was in May of 2006 and it was NOT a good night at all... It was the night Hideki Matsui broke his wrist and the Bombers got beat by the Sox 5-3.... An all around lousy night! Long drive home with 3 Sox fans!

I will miss The Stadium. I have been approx 15 times and every single time I was in awe. It's majestic. It has so much history.

It is unfortunate that I didn't get to the Bronx either in 08 or 09.... But I will frequent the new stadium as soon as it becomes feasible.

Excellent blog, my fellow Bomber fan...
